Gangsta - Review Anime

 My Precious Anime ❤

Gangsta is an anime series that follows the lives of two “handymen” who work as mercenaries in the city of Ergastalum, a place ruled by mafia and crime. They are,Worick Arcangelo, a former prostitute, and a skilled gunman, and Nicolas Brown, a deaf swordsman and a “Twilight”, a superhuman being who gained enhanced abilities from a special drug. Along with Alex Benedetto, a former prostitute who joins them as their secretary, they take on various jobs from both the police and the mafia, while also dealing with the conflicts and secrets of the city.

The anime is based on the manga of the same name by Kohske, and it was produced by Manglobe, the studio behind Samurai Champloo and Ergo Proxy. The anime aired in 2015, and it has 12 episodes and a recap episode. The anime covers the first four volumes of the manga, and it ends with a cliffhanger that leaves many questions unanswered.

The anime has a dark and gritty atmosphere, with a realistic and detailed art style. The animation is fluid and dynamic, especially in the action scenes, where the handymen show off their skills and abilities. The soundtrack is composed by Tsutchie, who also worked on Samurai Champloo, and it features a mix of jazz, hip-hop, and rock. The opening theme is “Renegade” by Stereo Dive Foundation, and the ending theme is “Yoru no Kuni” by Annabel. And it's Epic! I love both of the opening-ending ost.

The anime has a strong and diverse cast of characters, each with their own personality and backstory. The main characters are likable and complex, and they have good chemistry and banter. Worick (white hair) is a charismatic and witty leader, who hides his traumatic past behind a smile. Nicolas (brown hair ) is a loyal and fierce fighter, who communicates through sign language and has a soft spot for children.

Alex is a kind and gentle woman, who tries to overcome her drug addiction and regain her lost memories. The anime also explores the themes of friendship, family, loyalty, discrimination, and corruption, through the interactions of the handymen with other characters, such as the mafia families, the police, the Twilights, and the mysterious group that threatens the city.

The anime is not for the faint of heart, as it contains a lot of violence, blood, gore, and nudity. The anime also deals with some sensitive and mature topics, such as prostitution, drug abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking. The anime does not shy away from showing the harsh and brutal reality of the city, and the consequences of the actions of the characters. The anime also has a lot of twists and turns, and it keeps the viewers engaged and intrigued.

The anime is a great adaptation of the manga, and it delivers a thrilling and captivating story, with a stunning animation and a fitting soundtrack. The anime is a must-watch for fans of action, drama, and crime genres, and for those who enjoy a dark and gritty story with complex and realistic characters. The anime is rated R - 17+ (violence & profanity) by MyAnimeList1, and it has a score of 7.411 out of 10, based on 275,167 users’ ratings. The anime is also available on streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll and Funimation.

However, the anime is incomplete, and it does not cover the whole story of the manga, which is still ongoing. The anime also suffers from some production issues, such as the bankruptcy of Manglobe, the poor quality of the recap episode, and the lack of a second season. Therefore, the anime may leave some viewers unsatisfied and frustrated, and they may want to read the manga to continue the story and find out what happens next.

So it's 9/10 why 9? because yeah everything still unclear in the anime, we need to continue tha manga but not that far the manga is hiatus ): I hope this manga will continue again and anime production is on going too. I love how they write the character, I love Nicolas Brown he such a gentleman and have a place in my heart to. So if you don't watching yet, just watch but don't come to a dissapointed after that hahah because yeah we are the same, follow the unfinished anime even manga ):

Nicolas Brown 💖💖💖
