Toko Revenger Live Action

Tokyo Revenger

I have watched the live action adaptation of Tokyo Revengers 1, which is based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name. The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a loser who travels back in time to his middle school days, where he tries to save his first love Hinata Tachibana from being killed by a gang in the future. To do that, he has to become the leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang, a group of delinquents who are involved in a turf war with other gangs.

The live action movie is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa, who has also directed other manga adaptations such as Kakegurui and L-DK. The cast includes Takumi Kitamura as Takemichi, Yuki Yamada as Ken Ryuguji, Yosuke Sugino as Naoto Tachibana, Mio Imada as Hinata Tachibana, and Ryo Yoshizawa as Manjiro Sano.

The movie tries to capture the essence of the original source material, but it falls short in many aspects. The acting is mediocre at best, with some of the actors looking too old or too young for their roles. The fight scenes are poorly choreographed and lack impact, with some of the punches and kicks looking fake and weak. The special effects are also subpar, with the time travel scenes looking cheap and cheesy. The plot is rushed and skips over many important details and character development, making it hard to follow and care for the characters. The movie also changes some of the events and dialogues from the manga and anime, which may annoy some of the fans.

The only positive thing I can say about the movie is that it has a good soundtrack, featuring some of the songs from the anime, such as Cry Baby by Official Hige Dandism and Tokyo Wonder by Nakimushi. The music helps to create some of the emotional moments and the atmosphere of the story.
Overall, I would not recommend the live action Tokyo Revengers 1 to anyone, unless you are a die-hard fan of the series and want to see how it looks in live action. Even then, you may be disappointed by the poor quality and execution of the movie. The movie is available to watch on Crunchyroll1 and Bilibili23, but I suggest you watch the anime instead, which is much better and faithful to the manga. The anime is also available on Crunchyroll and other streaming platforms.7/10 👀❤
